The Netherlands’ Prime Minister has announced that F-16 fighter jets will be delivered to Ukraine via Romania in the next 14 days.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced on Monday that the initial U.S.-manufactured F-16 fighter jet being gifted by the Netherlands to Ukraine will be delivered to Romania’s training facility in a fortnight.

“I anticipate the prompt delivery of Patriot missiles to assist Ukraine during the upcoming winter. The same urgency also applies to the F-16s,” stated Rutte during a video conference with Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelenskyy, as posted on the messaging platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

He noted that the initial batch will be sent to the training facility in Romania within the next 14 days in preparation for future training.

Additionally, Denmark, Norway, and Belgium have declared their intention to provide F-16 jets to Ukraine.

Dutch Prime Minister Rutte stated that the current events in Gaza and the recent terrorist attack on Israel, as well as their consequences, will not divert our attention from the ongoing situation between you and Russia. He emphasized the importance of standing against Russia’s aggression.

“We must ensure that the international community is able to direct its attention towards Ukraine and is also actively engaged in the current events unfolding in the Middle East,” he stated.
