The United Nations has strongly denounced the deadly assaults that took place in Moscow.

The Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk was invaded by armed individuals, resulting in the death of at least 40 individuals and causing over 100 injuries. The incident occurred right before a sold-out rock show. According to the media, a terrorist organization has taken credit for the assault and the perpetrators have not yet been captured by authorities.

The Deputy Spokesperson, Farhan Haq, stated that the Secretary-General expresses his sincere sympathies to the grieving families, as well as the people and government of Russia. He also hopes for a swift recovery for those who were injured.

The Security Council condemns the deplorable act of terrorism.

The press statement released on Friday evening by the Security Council denounced the “despicable and gutless act of terrorism.”

The Council members expressed their deepest condolences and sympathy to the Russian people and to the families of the victims, following the tragic loss of many lives due to this despicable act of terrorism.

The Council confirmed once again that all types of terrorism are a major danger to global peace and stability. They emphasized the importance of holding responsible parties, planners, supporters, and funders of these abhorrent acts accountable and taking legal action against them.

They called on all countries to fulfill their responsibilities under international law and applicable Security Council resolutions by actively collaborating with the Russian Government and other pertinent officials in this matter.
