The international court has dismissed the majority of Ukraine’s accusations of terrorism against Russia.

The 117-page decision included decisions on seven issues in Ukraine’s lawsuit against Russia. One of the claims in the case was that Moscow was providing financial support to pro-Russian separatists in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

The court ruled that Russia violated its obligation under article 9 of the treaty by not investigating the information received from Ukraine regarding individuals accused of committing an offense outlined in article 2 of the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism.

The international court ruled that Russia’s actions in Crimea since 2014 were in violation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. Specifically, Russia’s educational system and curriculum implementation in regards to the Ukrainian language were deemed discriminatory.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) also determined that Russia failed to comply with the court’s provisional measures order from April 2017. This included the obligation to avoid any actions that could worsen the conflict or complicate its resolution.

The international court dismissed all remaining accusations made by Ukraine, including their demands for financial reparation from Moscow for any harm caused.

The upcoming ruling from the ICJ is anticipated to be announced on Friday.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is set to deliver a ruling on Friday regarding Russia’s objections to the court’s jurisdiction in Ukraine’s case of alleged genocide.

The case was initiated by Kyiv two days after Russia launched a full-scale invasion on February 24th, 2022.

Although the court’s rulings are ultimate, with no chance for appeal, it is incapable of carrying out its verdicts.
