According to Russian officials, they successfully intercepted and destroyed multiple unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Ukraine.

On Friday, Russia announced that it had successfully prevented multiple drone attacks by Ukraine in two border areas.

The defense ministry stated that 26 drones were shot down over the Crimean Peninsula, which was annexed from Ukraine in 2014. It was not mentioned whether there were any casualties or damage within a span of two hours.

The ministry announced on Telegram that it had shot down six drones in the Kursk region that were targeting installations on Russian soil. No further information was provided.

There have been frequent drone strikes in Russia’s border areas, although large-scale attacks are not as frequent.

The leader of Kursk, Roman Starovoit, verified the assaults on Telegram and urged locals to remain composed.

The city of Moscow and surrounding areas have also been subject to attacks by Ukrainian drones.

In recent days, Russia has been consistently attacking Ukrainian cities. Just this week, they conducted a significant drone strike in southern Ukraine and also launched ballistic missiles towards Kyiv, resulting in approximately 50 injuries from flying debris.
