The White House claims that North Korea provided Russia with ballistic missiles to be used against Ukraine.

On Thursday, the White House stated that North Korea has provided Russia with ballistic missiles and launchers for their involvement in the war against Ukraine.

John Kirby, a spokesperson for the National Security Council, stated that the recent escalation is both significant and worrisome. He also mentioned that the United States plans to address this issue with the United Nations Security Council.

Referring to recently released intelligence, Kirby stated that Russian troops fired at least one of the missiles supplied by North Korea on December 30. The missile landed in an unpopulated area in the Zaporizhzhia region of Ukraine.

According to reports, Russia launched several ballistic missiles into Ukraine on Tuesday as part of a large aerial attack. This marks one of the biggest attacks in the ongoing war between the two countries, which has been ongoing for almost two years.

Kirby stated that the U.S. and its allies will bring up the delivery of weapons to the United Nations Security Council as it violates the U.N. sanctions imposed on North Korea.

According to him, Russia plans to buy missiles from its partner Iran.

Both the cities of Moscow and Pyongyang have previously refuted the accusations of possessing weapons.

In a statement, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield stated that the U.S. believes North Korea sent “several dozen ballistic missiles” to Russia and launched many of them on Tuesday.

She stated that we anticipate Russia will utilize extra missiles from [North Korea] to demolish a larger portion of Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure and cause harm to Ukrainian civilians.

Thomas-Greenfield expressed worries about how this partnership could affect worldwide peace and security.
