The leader of the military, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, stated a list of important matters for Ukraine and identified obstacles hindering the country’s efforts in the war in an article published on Thursday. This comes after reports from multiple news sources claiming he may be removed from his position.

General Zaluzhnyi did not address any conflict with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy or the potential for him to step down in the article released by CNN. The American news source noted that Zaluzhnyi wrote the piece prior to an anticipated announcement of his removal.

According to a report from CNN, an unnamed source stated that Zelenskyy was planning to announce the removal of Zaluzhnyi in the next few days, marking the most significant change to Ukraine’s military since Russia’s large-scale attack.

A high-ranking member of the presidential team stated that there has been no determination made yet on the dismissal of Zaluzhnyi and urged individuals not to make the matter political.

According to Zaluzhnyi’s essay, Ukraine must discover innovative methods and abilities to gain an upper hand against Russia as the conflict enters its third year.

He stated that the task for our military should not be underestimated. It involves developing a brand new state system for technological advancement in our armed forces.

He emphasized the importance of Ukraine increasing their production of drones.

“Essentially, it is the utilization of unmanned systems, such as drones, and other advanced weapons, that offers the most effective means for Ukraine to prevent getting involved in a stagnant war where we lack the upper hand.”

However, Zaluzhnyi expressed disapproval towards the Ukrainian state institutions for their perceived inability to enhance the manpower of the armed forces without resorting to what he deemed as “unpopular methods.”

The comment was a strong criticism of Ukraine’s efforts to reform the army mobilization process. The proposed changes have been stuck in the parliamentary commission for weeks and have not been discussed by legislators.

He criticized the flaws in the state’s regulations and the limited competition in the defense industry. This resulted in delays in production of certain items, such as ammunition.

The leader, also known as the “Iron General” by some, admitted that Kyiv was facing a decrease in military assistance from important allies who were dealing with their own political conflicts.

He stated that our partners are running low on supplies of missiles, air defense interceptors, and artillery ammunition due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and a worldwide shortage of propellant charges.

Zaluzhnyi has written opinion pieces in Western media about the ongoing conflict with Russia. In his latest article in November, he reiterated the importance of advancing technology for the battlefield.
