In 2022, Ukraine observed Christmas on December 25 for the first time in modern history due to Russia’s invasion. The Orthodox Church of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church decided to adopt the Revised Julian calendar, which follows the same date as the Western Gregorian calendar, rather than celebrating on January 7.
