For the first time in Ukraine’s history, “20 Days in Mariupol” by Mstyslav Chernov received the Academy Award for Best Documentary at this month’s Oscars ceremony. The movie is a personal retelling of the experience in Mariupol during Russia’s initial assault on the eastern Ukrainian city. Khrystyna Shevchenko interviewed Chernov and Anna Rice reports on the conversation.
