Despite efforts to improve the air quality in New Delhi, the severe pollution in the Indian capital continues to persist. As a result, a small yet increasing group of individuals are choosing to leave the city in order to avoid the health risks associated with dirty air. Many of these individuals are moving to Goa, a coastal city in western India, which has seen a rise in the number of people referred to as “pollution migrants.” Anjana Pasricha interviewed two families to understand their reasons for leaving the capital.
