It has been a decade since demonstrators in favor of European integration congregated in Independence Square in Kyiv. These events ultimately resulted in the removal of the pro-Kremlin leader Viktor Yanukovych and the illegal takeover of Crimea by Russia. Currently, as the conflict with Russia persists, the fate of Ukraine’s membership in the European Union will be determined at a summit in Brussels.
