Russian rockets strike underground gas storage site in Ukraine.

On Sunday, Russian missiles caused damage to an underground gas storage site in western Ukraine. This is just one instance of a series of Russian missile attacks on the country’s energy facilities.

According to Naftogaz CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov, the strike caused damage to the equipment, but repair work is currently underway.

Chernyshov stated on Facebook that the UGS operations will not be significantly affected despite the circumstances, as the gas is stored at a significant depth underground.

“The impaired surface infrastructure will require maintenance, but we have ample backup capabilities in place to alleviate any immediate consequences,” he stated, noting that the business was meeting customer needs.
