Russia and Ukraine trade missile and drone attacks.

According to Russian officials, on Saturday, they shot down 10 Ukrainian missiles above Sevastopol in Crimea and took control of a village close to Bakhmut.

Due to a lack of ammunition, Ukraine has experienced deficits in resources. As a result, Russia has seized control over multiple villages located near the front line in eastern Ukraine, as reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on Saturday. One of these seized villages is Ivanivske, with Chasiv Yar and Kramatorsk positioned beyond it.

Although the ground battle may be progressing at a slow pace, the two armed forces continue to launch attacks from the air.

The Ukrainian air force reported that they successfully brought down 31 out of 34 attack drones that were launched by Russia overnight. This comes after Russia’s massive attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure yesterday, as Ukraine continues to recuperate.

The country’s military stated that the drones were shot down in central, southern, and southeastern parts of Ukraine.

The power grid is gradually recovering.

Workers in the energy sector are continuing their efforts to reestablish power for certain Ukrainian citizens. This comes after a reported attack by Moscow on the country’s power grid, which authorities in Kyiv claim to be the most substantial in the ongoing conflict. Reports were released on Saturday.

President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced on Telegram that the ability to provide electricity has been reestablished in the majority of areas affected by the crisis. However, the situation in Kharkiv, which suffered severe damage, continues to be challenging.

“The city of Kharkiv and the western region of Khmelnytskyi are both experiencing power outages, according to a statement from Ukrenergo, the national grid operator.”

The attack by Russian forces resulted in the death of at least five individuals and left over 1 million people without electricity. The attack also targeted Ukraine’s largest dam.

Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported that two individuals were fatally wounded and seven others sustained injuries during Ukrainian airstrikes on the Belgorod region of Russia on Saturday morning.

Gladkov stated on Telegram that the morning was proving to be challenging.

A drone strike launched by Ukraine during the night caused a fire at a significant oil refinery in Russia’s Samara region.

On Saturday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that their troops had gained control over Krasnoye village, located in the Donetsk region of Ukraine.
