-on-Don Russia has reported that they shot down 11 drones belonging to Ukraine in Rostov-on-Don.
On Monday, Russia announced that it successfully prevented a drone attack launched by Ukraine in the Rostov region, located in the southwestern part of Russia. Additionally, a fire at a power plant in the area caused disruptions in service.
The Russian military has reported that its air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed all 11 Ukrainian drones that were responsible for the attack.
The governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, reported on Telegram that there was a fire at the Novocherkassk power plant, resulting in two of its power units being temporarily shut down.
The company in charge of OGK-2 has provided updates on the harm caused by the incident and stated that they are currently evaluating the condition of the plant’s equipment.

The military of Ukraine announced on Monday that they successfully brought down eight out of nine drones used by Russia to attack Ukraine during the previous night.

The company announced that although service to important facilities had been restored on Monday, there would be limited service and emergency shutdowns in the region.
In recent events, Russia has once again targeted and caused damage to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. There has been a series of attacks since last Friday, resulting in Ukraine’s energy ministry and distributors being forced to suspend energy exports and rely more on electricity imports.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, expressed in his recent video statement on Sunday the need to reinforce the air defense capabilities of his country due to ongoing aerial assaults from Russia.
“According to recent reports, during this week, Monday through today, Russian militants have deployed approximately 190 missiles of varying kinds and nearly 140 ‘Shahed’ drones. Additionally, they have released roughly 700 precision aerial bombs. It is noteworthy that in the past two years of this ongoing conflict, Russia has consistently engaged in acts of terror every single week.”
The Ukraine’s energy ministry and distributors announced that the country significantly increased its importation of electricity and stopped exporting on Sunday due to the recent attacks on its infrastructure by Russia. These attacks, which began on Friday, have resulted in a 50% loss of capacity for DTEK, Ukraine’s primary energy producer.
On Sunday, Poland stated that it would request an explanation from Russia regarding a recent incident of airspace violation. This occurrence was when a Russian missile entered Polish airspace briefly while conducting a significant missile strike on Ukraine.
The event on Sunday caused the NATO member to deploy F-16 fighter jets.
The leader of Kyiv’s military administration reported that Russia utilized cruise missiles fired from Tu-95MS strategic bombers. It is uncertain whether Russia intended for one of the missiles to enter Poland’s airspace. According to a representative of the Polish army, the missile briefly entered NATO territory on Sunday morning, going two kilometers into Poland before returning to Ukraine.
