According to reports, Ukraine has shot down 17 out of 22 drones belonging to Russia.

The Ukrainian military reported that they successfully destroyed 17 out of 22 drones launched by Russia in an overnight attack targeting different regions across the country.

The air force of Ukraine reported that the Russian strikes included five missiles aimed at the Kharkiv area, situated on the border between Ukraine and Russia, as well as two additional missiles directed at the neighboring Sumy region.

The Ukrainian military reported that the drones were prevalent in multiple regions, including Kyiv, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhya, and Rivne.

According to Serhiy Lysak, the governor of Dnipropetrovsk region, debris landed on the roof of a building and caused a fire to break out.

According to the governor of the Kirovohrad region, Andriy Raykovych, the drone strike caused damage to both residential and industrial structures.

Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, stated on Sunday that his military has a superior position in the Ukrainian battlefield. He also mentioned the possibility of establishing a buffer zone on the Ukrainian border to protect Russian territory from potential attacks.

After the most recent Ukrainian drone attacks on a Russian oil refinery, Putin made a statement about them. He also declared his victory in an election that has been discredited by the international community, securing his position for the next six years.

On Sunday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine stated that all actions taken by Russia in the occupied parts of Ukraine are considered criminal.

In his nightly speech, Zelenskyy declared that there should be a fair punishment for the actions of the Russian killers in this war, as well as for the protection of Putin’s long-standing authority.

On Sunday, Russia reported that 35 drones launched by Ukraine caused a small fire at an oil refinery, specifically targeting Moscow and disrupting power supply in nearby border regions.

According to a message on Telegram from the Russian defense ministry, 17 drones launched by Ukraine were destroyed above the southern region of Krasnodar, four over Moscow, and the remaining over six other regions.

The Krasnodar region’s operational headquarters in southern Russia reported on Telegram that although the drones were dealt with, one of them crashing resulted in a fire breaking out.

The fire was extinguished within a few hours. While there were no fatalities directly linked to the fire, the initial report stated that at least one person died from a heart attack.

According to a Ukrainian intelligence source, attacks by Ukrainian SBU security forces using drones have targeted 12 Russian oil refineries since the start of the war in February 2022. Reuters reported on this.

According to the governor of the Belgorod region, one person was killed and 11 others were injured by Ukrainian shelling. Earlier on Sunday, regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov had reported that a 16-year-old girl died in a border area due to a Ukrainian shell setting her house on fire.
