1 Fatality and Damage to Kherson City Center in Ukraine from Attack

On Wednesday, Governor Oleksandr Prokudin reported that a person was killed and two others were injured in a Russian assault in the Kherson region of eastern Ukraine. The attack also caused damage to buildings in the city center.

“Once again, Prokudin described a scene of complete destruction. Shattered glass, damaged window frames, and destroyed homes. People were speaking with shaky voices, recounting the traumas they had experienced.”

On Wednesday morning, the interior minister of Ukraine stated that Russia had attacked 118 different towns in 10 regions, which was the highest number of assaults in a single 24-hour period in the past year.

According to reports, a Russian drone attack resulted in the death of a civilian in Nikopol, which is located on the other side of the Dniper River from the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Regional Governor Serhii Lysak stated that four other individuals were also injured in the strike.

Russian missile losses

According to the latest intelligence report from Britain’s Ministry of Defense, Russia is believed to have lost four surface-to-air missile launchers in recent attacks by Ukraine. This occurred on Thursday as part of ongoing tensions between the two countries.

The ministry reports that Russia’s integrated air defense system is still facing difficulties in defending against advanced precision strike weapons as shown by the losses.

Soldiers from Ukraine facing trial for

On Wednesday, Russia announced that three additional Ukrainian soldiers who participated in the battle of Mariupol have been given prison sentences. This is part of their ongoing practice of putting captured soldiers on trial.

Approximately 2,500 individuals were captured by Russia following the capture of Mariupol in May of last year.

According to Moscow’s Investigative Committee, three soldiers have been convicted for the murder of eight individuals in Mariupol.

The committee released a report stating that three individuals were apprehended and shot while near their combat locations with automatic firearms, resulting in the deaths of seven men and one woman.

One of the soldiers received a life sentence, while the remaining soldiers received 30-year sentences each.

The rulings were made following the sentencing of three other Ukrainian soldiers who were captured, on Tuesday, to life in prison by the same court.
