The CEO of American chip manufacturer Nvidia announced on Monday that the company plans to increase its collaboration with Vietnam’s leading tech companies and aid in the advancement of technology.

This nation focuses on cultivating skilled individuals in the field of artificial intelligence and developing digital infrastructure.

According to a document released by the White House in September, Nvidia has invested $250 million in Vietnam and has collaborated with major technology companies to implement AI in areas such as cloud computing, automotive technology, and healthcare. This occurred when the United States upgraded their diplomatic relationship with Vietnam.

During his initial visit to the country, Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, stated at a Hanoi event that Vietnam is already a valued partner due to our substantial client base of millions.

Nvidia and Vietnam are committed to strengthening their partnership, with Viettel, FPT, Vingroup, and VNG as key partners for expanding collaboration, according to Huang. He also mentioned that Nvidia will provide support for Vietnam’s artificial intelligence training and infrastructure.

Last week, Reuters announced that Nvidia would be meeting with Vietnamese technology companies and officials on Monday to discuss potential partnerships regarding semiconductors.

During Huang’s trip, Vietnam is attempting to increase its involvement in chip design and potentially chip production, taking advantage of trade tensions between the US and China.

During the event on Monday, Vietnam’s investment minister Nguyen Chi Dzung announced that the country has been implementing measures and offering incentives to attract investments in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence sectors.

Dzung requested that Nvidia also consider establishing a research and development center in Vietnam, in response to Huang’s suggestion to establish a presence in the country after meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Sunday.
